The Super and the Marvelous 10/16/2015

We had the joyful privilege to provide the music entertainment for Alan and Jenna Parsons this evening. Forgoing the traditional, they chose to celebrate with the creative graphic novel theme.

Looking around the venue, there were artist renderings of Superman, Wonder Woman, Black Widow, Iron Man and so many, many more.

DJ Kurtis, supplied the music the couple had chosen.  For their parents’ entrance- Come and get you love, by Redbone. For the wedding party to enter- the theme from The Avengers.  And for their grand entrance- the theme from X-men the animated series!

Their wedding cake was three-tiered with white icing. “Short Skirt Long Jacket” by Cake, played as they began the cutting. Their cake toppers were two small action figures, The Blue Lantern (known for representing peace and hope) with his bride along side. One could almost hear Alan, proclaiming in true comic hero posture “ Let no man separate“! With good humor, Deadpool was caught under the bottom layer of the cake.

The night continued with the first dance to “Swing Life Away” by Rise Against. The parents’ dance was to the classic “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole. Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies”, had the girls reaching for the bouquet, as “Hooked on a feeling’ by Blue Suede had the guys jumping for the garter.

At night's end, their friends and family blew bubbles, wishing them an effervescent life together! Truly a light-hearted and fun couple!

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Parsons!

A Sunset Ceremony July 25th 2015

                A SUNSET CEREMONY

                      Tara and Mark Jenkins

A tangerine afternoon, Tara and Mark had their wedding and celebration in their spacious backyard. The guests were family and friends, excited for them. Guests arrived and Groovebox Entertainment’s DJs began setting the mood with atmospheric songs. Favorites played while meeting and greeting was a comforting soundtrack for the moment.

At the request of the bride, DJ Kurtis had a beautiful strings version of the processional.  The groom Mark stood anxiously at the front, the parents entered and were seated the wedding party came down and took their places at the front. At the perfect moment, the beauty of the day appeared; the bride, Tara, radiant.

In the ceremony, Groovebox provided the music tracks for Sara Bullock who beautifully sang a special song for them "I Will Be Here" by Stephen Curtis Chapman.
All applauded the new husband and wife. As dusk arrived, so did the wedding party for dinner. Next to the dance floor, Groovebox’s DJ’s, Kurtis and Kaveer were ready with the party music and games. Even the kids had fun dancing to the “Hot Dog song” from the “Disney Clubhouse” soundtrack! Partying the night away!

Groovebox Entertainment had music for everyone’s taste, U2, Clint Black and Lisa Hartman-Black, Beyonce, Bow-wow-wow, Etta James and so many more!

Mark, Tara’s husband, as he played guitar, sang to his beautiful new bride the song by Blake Shelton “God Gave Me You”.  It is clear that these two are in love and are loved.

Kurtis played on through the night as all danced, laughed and had a blast to the very end. All things together, a memorable experience!

All the best
To Tara and Mark Jenkins
And to all of their families.

Thank you for letting us be part of the memory and the soundtrack for your day!

Wedding Romantique June 27th 2015

A WEDDING ROMAN-TIQUE

This ceremony was held outside at this picturesque, rustic styled home. Being both elegant and historical, the landscape was classically ideal for the wedding and reception.

The wedding party, well dressed in smooth cream colors, even as the smooth music, that also colored the gathering in sound.

Heart felt applause erupted after Corey and Jamie said their vows and the pronouncement was made! The music for their walk was just perfect.

Kurtis entertained with couples games while also syncing beats into the night! Old school disco and bringing it up to some Top 40 had everybody grooving.

One of the best moments of the night happened when Corey and Jaime in the center of the dance floor was circled by their wedding party as they danced together as if the world began that night!

In the words of Rhonda, the mother of the groom"
"Their colors were periwinkle and violet, somewhat traditional but with a casual California twist, a garden wedding, with an outside reception at Iamosa, a historical house in Rancho Cucamonga built in 1906. The home has been privately owned for the past 25 years.

Weddings were held here in the past, but the son of the owner Howard LaParry and myself, Rhonda Meyer (Corey's mom) have done some renovations to start usig this beautiful home as an event venue.

It was a perfect first wedding as a kickoff for our venue. Kurtis did a wonderful job and everyone seemed to really enjoy celebrating Corey and Jaime's marriage with all of our family and friends. It was a lot of fun and an amazing memory we will always cherish.

Thank you Kurtis for helping make this special day even more fun! Hopefully we can work together on more events at Ioamosa.
Thank you,
Rhonda and Howard"

Congratulations to Corey and Jaime Medrano,
It was our pleasure! From Kurtis and all of us here at

February 28, 2014 Classical Indian Wedding

The marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Manish Kakar's was one of the most memorable events that we have ever had the pleasure of hosting. The traditional Indian ceremony was held at sunset at the historic Dana Point Yacht Club overlooking a stunningly calm and serene harbor after hours of non-stop stormy weather.

In fact, the fire circling ceremony known as "fehre" was initially planned for outside, but with the waves flooding the entire balcony, the staff at the Yacht Club worked ferociously along with the family of the bride the morning of the wedding to create a stage and environment that was arguably better than the original.

Even without the ceremony, the reception afterwards alone warrants this wedding as one of the most fun and crazy events in GrooveBox Entertainment's decade-long history. It included everything from a live tabla and sitar duo to a traditional Indian dance performance by one of the family friend's daughters.

And of course the dance floor was lit ablaze by DJ Kav, but boy do Indian people love to dance!

We had such a wonderful time at this wedding and look forward to being a part of many more cultural and unique events! Photo credits go to our personal friend Raul Lozano. Call him at 714-906-4082 for your event and make sure to mention GrooveBox Entertainment!

Eric's Surprise 40th Birthday Party

We had so much fun this Friday hosting Eric's surprise birthday party. The guests held nothing back when it came to taking part in the Fancy Pants theme of the night, featuring everyone from old school rock stars in skin-tight leather pants to the hippie-cultured CEO's of Silicon Valley. GrooveBox provided insane mix after mix for the seemingly tireless crowd, who couldn't get enough time on the dance floor. Of course, none of this would have been possible without the one and only Andrea Lanfriend, one of the best event coordinators we've had the honor of working with. Thanks for letting us be a part of your birthday Eric and we hope you had a wonderful 40th birthday!

Halloween Party 2013

Kevin is one of our regular clients and we've worked this event for him multiple times in the past. He's always a pleasure to work with and, like every other year, we had tons of fun getting everyone into the Halloween spirit. The costumes were spectacular and the personalities even more so!
Technically, this is a corporate event that Kevin hosts at his own home for his employees and their families as a fundraiser for Toys for Tots. We are so proud to be a part of such a beautiful and passionate cause with caring people. And the enthusiasm and energy everyone brought to the party made our job that much more fun. Thanks for a great night Kevin and we can't wait to see you again next year!

September 7th Jenn & Noel

This was by far one of the most fun weddings we've done in quite some time. From planning their wedding to set up to all the fun and games of the interactive package, Jenn and Noel and all of their family and friends were an absolute pleasure to work with. The gorgeous venue on Santa Barbara Avenue in Aliso Viejo along with the one of GrooveBox Entertainment's best lighting packages created an atmosphere that perfectly complimented the fun and outgoing mood of the audience. And everybody certainly had more than their fare share of souvenirs to remember the night by as the professional services of Capture the Moment Photo Booth and Nathan Nowack Photography managed to capture just about every aspect of the beautiful reception.

Between all the excitement and fun, Jenn & Noel managed to squeeze in this picture with their favorite MC!
